Dialogues

pièces à deux violes

This program consists of french duos for viola da gamba from the period of Louis XIV and XV.

Viola da gamba was at that time one of the most popular instrument at court. It was a glorious time for the viola da gamba: the solo music written for it was refined and brilliant and its performers were amongst the top musicians of the time.

The program “Dialogues” displays the beauty and elegance of french baroque music in a way that only two viols can do.
